April 2024 Event

17th century Dutch kitchen with a woman working at a wooden prep table, fireplace burning in the background, surrounded by drying herbs, stoneware jars and other furnishings and utensils of the era.

The Influence of Dutch Cooking in the Hudson River Valley

by Juanita Bryant

The program speaker for Greenport Historical Society’s first meeting of 2024 will be an education and recipe sampling program presented by Juanita Bryant, Registered Dietician/Nutritionist and our new Vice President. Juanita was born and raised in the Greenport area. She is currently the owner of Bryant Nutrition, an active nutrition practice located in Livingston, NY. One of Juanita’s passions is to explore the cultural foods of early settlers. Juanita will teach us about the many foods we consider to be “American” but have actual Dutch origin. Be ready to taste samples of these “Dutch delights.”

Admission is free.
