Frederic Church (1826-1900), the preeminent artist of the Hudson River School, created OLANA as his family home, working studio, and a work of landscape art, over the course of 40 years from 1860 to 1900. His work is the subject of our Thursday, April 18, 2019 program, “Frederic Church’s OLANA: Art, Architecture and Landscape,” at 7:00 PM Greenport Community Center.
Sean Sawyer, President of The Olana Partnership, will explore the evolution of Church’s OLANA from farm to artistic masterpiece and discuss plans for expanding public access and interpretation, including new tours beginning this spring.
Join us at the Greenport Community Center, Town Hall Drive, off Healy Blvd. It’s the last building on the left, opposite Greenport Town Hall. This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available after the presentation. Come join us!
